Welcome to the Florida State Association of Rehabilitation Nurse Annual Conference. We have been so blessed to be able to finally meet again. It has been a rough couple of years, and I have missed seeing you in person.

Our nurse members are intelligent and informed assets to their communities and employers. I have been a member since 1987 and have treasured the knowledge, connections and socialization of this organization. Many of you use your talents to volunteer in this and other organizations in your community. I want to hear from you about those experiences and how you serve others. The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses asks us about how our members serve the community and rates us accordingly. Personally, I am a Guardian ad Litem, working with children with disabilities who are in the foster care system. I make sure they are getting the appropriate medical services and represent their needs and wishes in court. I also volunteer in a public-school classroom, helping students whose grades suffered due to the on-line education during Covid. I worked with the Health Department during Covid, to administer injections at public locations. I can advise you of those types of opportunities to use your talents. FSARN needs more volunteers. We need your ideas. We need assistance with conference planning suggestions. We need an Historian to collect our photos and old newsletters electronically. We need your connections to suppliers of medical goods and services. We want members who wish to become officers. These activities can assist you in advancement of your career. Please contact Grace Yousif or me if you would be willing to participate. We love our members and want to utilize your talents and ideas.

Today will be a wonderful time for education and socialization.
